Christmas Photo Book Order Deadline: When to Order (2026)
7 min read
A photo book Christmas gift isn't something you can pick up on December 23. Each copy is printed just for you, and then it has to travel through a delivery network in its busiest week of the year. So the date that matters is the Christmas photo book order deadline, not the day you plan to wrap it. Here are the dates we recommend for 2026, the reasons to leave some room, and what to do if you're already late.
In short: to have a Tangible photo book by Christmas Eve, order before November 30, 2026 if it's going to an address in Europe, and before November 23 if it's going anywhere else, such as the US, Canada, Australia or New Zealand (November 16 for Brazil and Japan). Our usual estimate is 7-10 calendar days from order confirmation, but printers and carriers are busier in December and it can take longer. Outside Europe, check the delivery estimate shown at checkout. We don't ship to the United Kingdom.
When should you order a photo book for Christmas?
These are the dates for a book you want in hand by Christmas Eve, counted in calendar days:
| Shipping to | What we recommend |
|---|---|
| Europe | Before November 30 |
| Outside Europe | Before November 23 |
Earlier is always better: in November you can do it calmly and keep the book in a closet until it's time.
The 7-10 calendar days are an estimate, not a guaranteed date, and in December they can run longer. If you need the book by a specific day, leave as much room as you can.
Why order this far ahead?
There are three reasons.
- The estimate covers both printing and shipping. Printing usually takes 2-5 days and transit another 1-5, and at busy times it can be more. The printer doesn't start until you confirm your order, and those days can't be shortened.
- December is the busiest month for parcels. DHL in Germany, for example, publishes its Christmas cutoff dates and recommends sending economy international shipments 2-3 days earlier.
- A reprint takes time too. If your book arrives defective or damaged, we reprint it for free or refund you, but a reprint goes through printing and shipping again. With two weeks to spare, it may still get there in time.
Other services ask you to plan ahead too. For Christmas 2025, Journi published these last days for standard shipping: December 16 for the US, December 9 for Canada, and December 7 for Ireland and New Zealand. Google Photos lists for its photo books 2-4 working days of printing plus, in the continental US, 8-11 working days for economy shipping or 5-7 for priority, and says delivery times aren't guaranteed. These dates and times vary by year and country, so check the site of whichever service you choose.
How long does delivery take, and where do we ship?
We ship to the European Union (with a few exceptions), Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Singapore. We do not ship to the United Kingdom.
| Destination | Delivery estimate | For Christmas Eve, order before |
|---|---|---|
| Europe, including Ireland | Usually 7-10 calendar days with tracking; can take longer in December | November 30 |
| Outside Europe, including the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand | Depends on the destination: check the estimate at checkout | November 23 |
| Brazil and Japan | Can take more than 10 days: check the estimate at checkout | November 16 |
Before you pay, you'll see the shipping methods available for your address, each with its price and estimated delivery time. Pay attention to that number, especially if the book is going to another country: it's the one that applies to your order.
How long does it take to make the photo book?
Building the book takes less than 10 minutes: you upload your photos, and the AI removes duplicates, sorts them by date and lays out the pages in minutes. What really takes time is gathering the photos, especially when they're spread across several family members' phones.
That's why it pays to start well before the deadline. Here's one way to plan it:
- This week: decide who it's for and what it's about (the family's year, a trip, the grandkids).
- A few days later: ask siblings, cousins or friends for the photos you're missing. With Tangible, everyone can add theirs to the same book.
- Once you have all the photos: create the book, go through it page by page in the editor and change anything you like.
- Before your date: confirm the order, before November 30 in Europe or before November 23 everywhere else.
Which photo book makes the best Christmas gift? Sizes and prices
Every book includes 30 pages and can grow to 200. Prices shown are for Spain, shipping not included. Price and currency vary by country (for example, the Mini starts at €19.99 in most of the EU and $14.99 in the US): you'll see your exact price in the cart.

You'll see the final price and shipping cost for your address at checkout. All books are printed at 300 DPI on 170 gsm silk paper from certified sustainable sources (FSC/PEFC or equivalent). If you're unsure, the Compact is the safest choice; for grandparents, a hardcover holds up better to being passed around. There are more ideas on our photo book gift page.
What if I've missed the date?
If the recommended date has passed, you still have options:
- Order as soon as you can anyway. Once the recommended date has passed, we can't promise it will arrive by Christmas Eve: check the estimate shown at checkout before you confirm.
- Check the shipping methods at checkout. Depending on the country, there may be an express option. If there is, you'll see its price and estimated delivery time there.
- If it won't make it, give the announcement. Print the cover or a page of the book at home, slip it into an envelope and say the real thing is on its way.
Frequently asked questions
Can you guarantee it will arrive before Christmas?
No. The 7-10 calendar days are an estimate that includes printing and shipping, and it can run longer in December. That's why we recommend ordering before November 30 in Europe and before November 23 everywhere else.
Do you ship to the UK?
No. We don't ship to the United Kingdom, so we can't deliver a book to a UK address.
Can I ship it directly to the person I'm giving it to?
Yes. At checkout you can use a shipping address different from your own.
Can I order several copies of the same book?
Yes. Once it's designed, you can order as many copies as you like, in the same order or later on. It's a nice way to give the same book to several family members.
Can I track my order?
Yes. You'll get a tracking number by email as soon as the book leaves production.
Can I see the book before paying?
Yes. You design it and see the whole book before paying. Payment happens when you confirm the order, and it's only printed after you approve the preview.
What if I make a mistake or it arrives damaged?
As long as it hasn't gone into production, you can write to us to cancel and we'll refund you in full. If it arrives defective, damaged or isn't what you ordered, we reprint it for free or refund you.
Can I use photos from Google Photos?
Yes. In the app, you import them with Google's official photo picker, and on the website you can upload them from your computer or phone. It's all explained in how to make a photo book from Google Photos.
Start today, wrap it in December
The easiest way not to miss the date is to do it in November: you have time to gather the photos and review every page, and you won't be checking the tracking every day of the last week. Get the Tangible app or start on the website, and see the whole process in how it works.
